Think Orange

Our Vision
Our vision is to reach people far from God so more can experience the grace of God.

Our Ministry Philosophy and Strategy
We believe that there are 2 powerful influences in this world: Church and Family. They exist because God created them to tell His Story; to tell the world who He is and what He has done and will do. Each of these 2 powerful influences has a distinct and essential task that God has designed them to do.

The Church:

God directs the Church to shine a light in the darkness, to highlight who He is and reveal His son, Jesus Christ so that the world can know Him personally.  We represent the Church by the color yellow.

Ephesians 5:8-9 (NLT) "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!  For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true."

The Family:

God directs the Family to display His heart by teaching and modeling to each generation a love for Him and a love for each other.  The heart of the family makes an impact on the future of every child and the future of the world.

Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT) Jesus replied, "'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

Growing:

When the Church and the Family work together, they can have a greater impact on a child's spiritual growth than if they work alone.

How GCCM Thinks Orange:

We Think Orange with our programming:

We think it is reasonable to believe that how you teach the truth may determine whether or not it's actually heard. Therefore, we provide a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate environments for your children. We know as they grow they will move from WONDER (who God is and our relationship with him) to DISCOVERY (who we are in light of our relationship with God and one another) and then to PASSION (our purpose as we love God and others). Learn about each team's specific strategy:

We Think Orange with our volunteer team:

We believe that every Christian has God-given talents to be used to minister to others. We welcome a wide-ranging mix of volunteers of all ages and life stages to our ministry.  Our volunteers serve as teachers, mentors, and models of God's truths to your children. They will be your partner in guiding your children to have a thriving relationship with Jesus.  We highly encourage parents to serve as volunteers, because you are the first model of service for your children and because being intimately involved can give you an advantage in knowing more about what's happening in their ministry. We Think Orange with our resources:

We are part of a community with The reThink Group who provides us with our online curriculum and many great resources for leaders, volunteers, and parents. We believe you are the primary spiritual faith trainer for your child.  Therefore, we provide strategic resources to equip you to know what your children are learning at church.  This knowledge gives you the ability to prompt continuing conversations at home and to build on the messages by pointing to examples as they occur in your children's everyday life. We Think Orange with our communication:

We aim to strategically communicate with families by providing multiple ways to connect to us and enhance your family's experience in our ministry.

  • E-blasts: enrolled families are added to our email list, which we use sparingly, to highlight news or events we believe would interest you.
  • Our Website: you're already here!  Look around our site to learn more about our programming, volunteer opportunities, policies and procedures, and events.

How Families Think Orange:

You can Think Orange by:

  • Praying for our partnership and your children's spiritual growth.
  • Being consistent about bringing your child every opportunity. Children need time to develop relationships with leaders and friends; and deeper relationships foster a better environment for spiritual growth.
  • Communicating with your children's leader at the door and exchanging contact information to share celebrations and milestones in your children's faith, give reminders about allergies or custody concerns, provide helpful feedback, etc.
  • Inviting your children's leader to your children's special celebrations, like baptism, birthday party, or special events at school.
  • Using your talents God has given you by Becoming a Volunteer in our ministry. Your service enables other parents to attend to the spiritual needs of their families.
  • Talking with your children about what they're learning in church and encouraging them to ask questions and go to the Bible for answers.  Use the home resources we provide, listed above, as discussion starters.
  • Staying connected to our ministry through the communication channels listed above.
  • Celebrating your child's growing faith!
